During 25 years in my home-based practice, I have gathered many tools and skills to help you explore, understand and appreciate yourself. Any issues can then be approached from a new and self-empowered perspective.
For me acting as a counsellor means being a human with feelings and views, equal to you as the client, and open to connecting with you in a real way. I see my clients as human beings dealing with life challenges, not as patients who have something wrong with them.
In these challenging times, it may be difficult to feel good enough, to make relationships work or to find true motivation and contentment. For many people this is not an easy world to live in and it is so very understandable that issues arise.
A bit of independent, experienced, compassionate help can make all the difference. Then self-criticism, self-sabotage, conflicts, anger, relationships (or lack of relationships), depression and anxiety can be understood and resolved and a new direction can be found.
Some of the tools I may use are 'Inner Child', Focusing, Mindfulness, Voice Dialogue,
Byron Katie's 'The Work', Non Violent Communication and 'The Journey' (Brandon Bays).
As well as working with individuals, I enjoy counselling couples, creating a safe space for both partners in which to really listen to each other, and to learn new relating skills and ways of being together or apart. Relationships can improve dramatically during and after couple counselling. If separation is the best option for you, deeper understanding can be found, and attention given to honoring each other and the connection between you, as well as to creating practical solutions and agreements. I usually like to see both partners for an individual session each, before inviting you together.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Whether you are in a crisis or not, this may be the time for you to take action. If you would like to try an introductory session, email me through this site with any questions, your contact details, days and times that you can come and your preferred way to be contacted, and I will get back to you within a day. I usually send directions by text message. There is no obligation to commit to a certain number of sessions and it is fine to come for just one. All sessions last 75 minutes and cost £40 for an individual and £50 for a couple.

When I first went to Mina, I was very vulnerable and unable to cope due to a bereavement and an ongoing family problem. Having never had counselling previously, I found Mina to be understanding, non-judgemental, easy to talk to and a good listener. Extremely helpful. I had 5 sessions with Mina and can honestly say it changed my life and gave me the courage and confidence to end an 11 year relationship which was draining my energy and causing resentment. I went from worrying about not being able to cope on my own to feeling like, of course I would be fine on my own.
Before seeing Mina I often was in a subconscious state of feeling useless, pathetic, disempowered, not worth listening to or worthy of support, and basically unloved and unlovable. Through healing negative childhood experiences, I came to a place where I knew myself to be loved, and many areas of my life began to happen as I wanted them to and flow beautifully.
Mina has enabled me to touch the deep routed layers of my behaviour that no longer served me. Her reassuring and gentle approach enabled me to awaken and discover the potential within me, that I now can look to independently for continued exploration of the self. I can now embrace the challenges that life throws at me with an open heart and a sense of wonderment. Forever grateful for our time together.
Mina is a remarkable and lovely person. She provided me with a safe and loving place in which to explore areas of my childhood which I hadn't realised were creating negative patterns in my current life. Through her empathetic listening and reflecting skills, and by helping me to finally engage in inner child work (which I had previously resisted), she has enabled me to go from a place where I felt paralysed and trapped, to feeling free to do the things I truly want to do. Inner Child work has allowed me to connect to that voice within. Access to my house is up a steep, narrow hill. Although it is possible for confident drivers to bring a car up, I advise most people to park at the bottom and walk up the hill (5 minutes).
Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 10 am til 5 pm.
