About me

Hello, I am Michelle. I am a therapeutic Counsellor Clinical Supervisor in training. I am trained to work with adults, children and young people.

My specialist areas are panic attacks, anxiety disorders, obsessive thinking and phobias, depression, bereavement, grief and loss,  however, I have experience of working with all of the issues listed on my profile.

In addition to my private work, I am a children and young people's counsellor within a local hospice, helping children and young people to express difficult feelings in relation to grief and loss. I have extensive experience of working with young people.

Within my hospice work I also support adult clients, pre and post bereavement as well as clients who are within their last twelve months of life after receiving a terminal diagnosis.

Throughout the year, I facilitate a series of workshops for small groups of upto 12 clients who wish to learn about my fear monster method of treating anxiety and panic- you can register to attend via: https://www.itsjustafeeling.co.uk/anxiety-workshop-day-with-michelle

Michelle has been fantastic with ... he has looked forward to attending each week. Every time we enter the building we are greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Michelle has really listened to … and given him the tools he needs to be able to manage. I cannot express our thanks enough (Parent Feedback)

Michelle has always been very approachable and easy for.... to relate to. Saturday sessions at Michelle's home greatly appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend, flexible and adaptable, open minded (Parent Feedback)

I would recommend Michelle for support with anxiety and panic. I would say she is the best resource I have come across and I have looked at them all ! Even the sainted Claire Weekes. Michelle really does know how to succeed with panic anxiety and agoraphobia and sensibly prepares you for the fact that you must be vigilant of circumstances that could make you relapse but again tells you how to deal with those. (Adult Feedback)

'Thank you for everything' (Young Person Feedback)

'Dear Michelle, Thank you for everything that you have done, you've helped me a lot so thank you' (Young Person feedback)

'Thank you so much Michelle, you have been a huge help in getting me where I am at the minute. You are amazing and I will be forever grateful for your help, listening and understanding' (Adult Client feedback)

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
