Michelle Vickers Counsellor to Adults/Young People and Clinical Supervisor
Hello, I am Michelle. I am a therapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor.
I have a private practice in Queensbury in West Yorkshire, where I work with Adults (Individual and couples), Children and young people.
Queensbury is close to Brighouse, Bradford and Halifax so I am able to support clients from a wider area.
I consider myself to have a broad range of training in many areas however, my specialisms are working with panic attacks, anxiety disorders, obsessive thinking and phobias, depression, bereavement, grief and loss.
I have extensive experience of supporting clients with symptoms of anxiety and panic and many years ago, I self created an online resource to help people understand these difficult symptoms and to facilitate their recovery. In addition, I have extensive experience of counselling both adults, children and young people within a hospice setting. I offered pre and post bereavement support as well as supporting clients within their last twelve months of life after receiving a terminal diagnosis.
Client 'Fear Monster' Workshops.
Throughout the year, I facilitate a series of workshops for small groups of up to 6 clients via zoom who wish to learn about my fear monster (tm) concept in order to help them to understand and regain quality of life from anxious symptoms.
you can register to attend via: https://www.itsjustafeeling.co.uk/anxiety-workshop-day-with-michelle
I would recommend Michelle for support with anxiety and panic. I would say she is the best resource I have come across and I have looked at them all ! Even the sainted Claire Weekes. Michelle really does know how to succeed with panic anxiety and agoraphobia and sensibly prepares you for the fact that you must be vigilant of circumstances that could make you relapse but again tells you how to deal with those.
Thank you so much Michelle, you have been a huge help in getting me where I am at the minute. You are amazing and I will be forever grateful for your help, listening and understanding
You are a very approachable and professional lady, my confidence has improved and general wellbeing.
The experience has been very valuable for me and I have finished the process with much more hope than when I started.
Life improved, good outlook, clearer thoughts, very supportive, Great!
Full details given at the assessment session, I knew what to expect. Michelle has always shown respect and interest towards my religious and cultural values/ beliefs which has been fundamental for me. It has been brilliant and has helped me enormously, I am forward thinking and back to my positive confident self once again.
I'm feeling less anxious, I definitely would recommend, very good quality and professional service.

Dear Michelle, Thank you for everything that you have done, you've helped me a lot so thank you (Young Person feedback)
Michelle helped me to find ways to express my feelings, she was someone I saw once a week that helped to save my life. I now know how to solve and face life's struggles and learn in my own self how to acknowledge these feelings. I have learnt that it is ok to feel them. I still have some struggles but I can cope now. Michelle saved my life and stopped me when I was going to rock bottom. I now love myself and I am more independant. It has been life changing to me and my life.
A little bit more about me and my work
The foundation of my therapeutic work is Person Centred, however, I consider myself to be an Integrative Therapist, which means that use my knowledge and training in a number of different theories to meet the needs of each client that I work with.
I am a qualified Life Coach and I have additional training in Couples Therapy, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Working with Nightmares and Dreams, Shadow Therapy and working with LGBT people.
I hold a BSc Honours Degree in Therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in counselling Children and Adolescents as well as a Level four certificate in counselling children.
Continuous training to advance my own knowledge is important to me in order to provide the best support to my client's. I am currently studying towards a Masters degree on Understanding Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse.
My Therapy Room and Farm
My aim is to provide a safe and confidential space to my client's to enable them to explore their thoughts and feelings and I have no judgement.
I use a selection of tools, training, and experience to ensure I support clients as effectively as possible, using creative techniques as well as talking, whatever works best for the individual client.
I am based on a farm and may use therapeutic time with the animals as part of the therapy process if appropriate.
My therapy space is based in Queensbury in West Yorkshire however, I often work a much wider geographical area via zoom and so I welcome client's from all over the UK.
I hold a current DBS Certificate and I am fully insured. I receive regular clinical supervision to ensure that I provide the best possible care for my client's and to ensure I continue to work ethically and professionally.
Please don't hesitate to contact me, should you have any questions, I will be glad to help.
