I'm Michelle. I am a fully qualified Person-Centred Counsellor working in a non-directive way to provide a safe and non-judgemental space allowing the client to control the direction of their session.
I offer a warm, compassionate, empathetic, caring, professional and confidential counselling service where you can feel completely supported to discuss any difficulties you may have. I hope to help to enable you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace working towards finding clarity and resolving difficulties with the aim of enabling you to become the person that you want to be.
In addition, I am a trained Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher providing bespoke sessions, classes and workshops helping you to bring clarity and inner peace into your world.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and firmly adhere to the Ethical Framework of Good Practice and ensure I continue to keep up to date with regular continued professional development.

I work for The Bariatric Consultancy a specialist weight management service providing psychological, cognitive behavioural therapeutic interventions and support to adults in both a one to one and group setting who have severe and complex morbid obesity, complex eating disorders and associated mental health issues. The work is focused on addressing a patient’s relationship with food and developing new coping strategies and supporting patients to better understand their triggers to disordered eating, thus enabling them to deal with life events and trauma without resorting to food.
I am a trained Mindfulness and Compassion Teacher working to help to enhance total relaxation and greater wellbeing. I offer bespoke sessions tailored to your individual needs. I facilitate weekly groups and one-off workshops teaching techniques and tools such as breath awareness as well as showing how to integrate mindfulness into life’s daily activities to enhance health and well-being.
The groups and workshops are designed to use mindfulness values and insights to unfold creative intuitive intelligence and enhance resilience and emotional intelligence whilst reducing stress and addictive ways of living.
I have previously worked for a bereavement Charity facilitating a weekly support group and helped bereaved families in a caring and supportive capacity by providing emotional guidance, support, understanding and empathy around feelings of isolation, loneliness, difficult and complex bereavement, grief and loss.
In addition, I have worked as a School Counsellor using a variety of therapeutic approaches to establish a relationship of trust and a therapeutic alliance with students. I worked to quickly analyse and identify issues and problems and then facilitate and deliver ongoing open-ended counselling support and worked with students to develop positive behavioural strategies and to maintain inclusion and support their welfare and wellbeing.
Previously I have volunteered for The Maypole Project and Mind in Bexley providing emotional support and short term psychological and talking therapy services.

How therapy is delivered
If you would like to arrange an appointment for an initial consultation please contact me by email and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.
I feel the therapeutic relationship is key and as such the initial consultation session will be a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better. The initial session will last 50 minutes long during which time we can discuss your individual needs, work out an individualised therapeutic plan for you and talk over any questions that you may have.
