About me

Our journey through life is not always a smooth one and when we are faced with difficult feelings or circumstances which are inhibiting day to day living it is important to seek support to help us venture through the challenges.

My clients usually find counselling ultimately a very rewarding experience, many finding new approaches to life that bring about fulfilment and joy. The process, though painful, allows them to uncover their uniqueness and become more accepting and loving of their true selves.

I have a variety of approaches to my counselling work depending on the needs of my clients. The core of our work together is based on a safe, trusting, non judgemental space where we can get an understanding of how it is for you in your world and from there help you find a way to progess.

Sometimes exploring your past, paticularly childhood, can reveal insights about current challenging circumstances and relationships.

Other times it is more useful to examine our thought processes and how they may be limiting our growth.

Where trauma has occurred in your life or early years, perhaps through abuse or neglect, it can be difficult to find the words to express the fear, pain or sadness or there is a danger of being re-traumatised through reliving the event by speaking about it. I can help you release trauma held in the body through developing awareness of how it is held and released. For some clients this may manifest in everyday life as panic attacks with known/unknown cause or acute anxiety.

For many clients who choose to work on a deeper holistic level I can aid them to tap into their intuition and using their own reservoir for healing can bring about positive changes very quickly.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am privileged to have been taught by expert tutors in their counselling approach, Person Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT and Psycho Spiritual. This has equipped me with my unique integrative style of working with my clients.

I have been counselling since 2012, mainly in local communities, both in the UK and Northern Ireland. This has allowed me to gain experience in a variety of issues that arise for clients.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
