Michelle Seabrook MA Registered MBACP(Accred)
I offer supervision consultancy to people that help others. If your role is in a helping profession, you will need supervision support that helps address your professional & personal wellbeing.
I offer bespoke professional, supportive, supervision consultancy and training specifically regarding professional self-care, resilience and supervision for individuals, organisations and businesses. I work locally and nationally.
Throughout my career in the helping professions, I have recognised the need to have a professional space to process the impact of the work and manage the crossovers between the personal and professional. I have worked in a variety of settings in supporting people with a diverse range of issues. My broad range of experience means that I can tailor my approach to meet your needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked within the helping professions in a variety of settings since 1999, working in charities, as a qualified probation officer and as a therapist since 2008.
I am an accredited, registered member of BACP. My clients needs are the primary focus so I can adapt the 'tools' I use to meet your needs. We can collaborate to find out what works for you.
I use a number of psychotherapy influences including Psychodynamic/Integrative/Pluralistic approaches and Cognitive-Behavioural techniques. I work in a supportive, empathic, challenging, but thoughtful manner. I value the importance of the relationship and see this as being a key part of the process.
I have a special interest in resilience and self-care for professionals and organisations.
I am also a clinical supervisor for counsellors and psychotherapists - so take a look at my supervisors profile for more information.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
