About me

Hiya, my name is Michelle. Are you feeling alone, isolated or just generally down about your life? Do you want someone to talk to, and to be truly listened to? Then I am the therapist for you.

I realise that going into therapy can sometimes be a nerve wracking experience in itself; and finding the right therapist for YOU is extremely important.

I am very passionate about the work I do, hence the cheaper price.

I have had my share of difficulties in life as I am sure you have too. Throughout my journey to becoming a qualified therapist; through personal therapy and my training, I have realised just how empowering therapy can be.

For myself it was being offered a safe, confidential, warm place where I could express myself freely and safely. I was truly listened to with empathy, compassion and honesty, and I was accepted as myself with no judgement. Having never had this before I became more confident, my self-esteem grew, and my life no longer felt as if it was going in circles. I started healing!!

This is what I will offer YOU as I know it can be very cathartic. I believe that the relationship between us both is crucial for a good outcome, and that everyone has the capacity to heal themselves. I will not offer advice or personal opinions, but I will work with you to explore all avenues open to you.

I have over 150 hours face to face experience working with women who have been through sexual violence and domestic violence at WRSAC (Women’s rape and sexual abuse centre). I have also had experiences with rape, childhood sexual abuse, incest, bereavement, self-harm, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, hearing voices, psychosis, financial abuse, emotional abuse and psychological abuse.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I am Cornish born and bred. I love dogs. I am a Taurus, so very down to earth. I have been told that I am easy to talk to. I have four children, so I completely understand the difficulties of juggling work and home life.

I offer 1 hour sessions which can be taken in a room or we could meet outside in nature and go for a walk together.
