Michelle Quick - Registered MBACP Adv Dip Couns
Hello and welcome to my counselling profile. As a counsellor I provide a safe space for you to talk through any issues you may be struggling with and can support you to find healthy coping strategies to help you move forward.
I offer integrative counselling with my main modalities as Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Drawing on a range of evidence-based interventions I help clients to learn effective coping strategies, so that they can manage their wellbeing outside of the therapy room. I love to use creative interventions in my work with clients, where appropriate, to encourage self-discovery and increase self-awareness. I place relationship and a deep respect for the client as central to the therapeutic relationship and I believe positive change can happen by offering empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard combined with the human impulse to grow.
I have a broad experience of counselling in a range of health care settings including: GP Surgeries, Wellbeing Services for students and the NHS, working as an independent practitioner, alongside the wider Clinical Health Psychology Team, providing professional counselling and supportive care to patients with cancer and their families and carers. In my private practice I offer time-limited or long-term counselling, based on individual needs.
I provide a professional and confidential service, subscribing to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.
