About me

I am a doctor of counselling psychology (DPsych). I have worked in mental health services for the past 12 years – in the charity sector, for the NHS, in a school for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and in private practice. I have experience in a variety of contexts, from primary care psychology services, to community mental health teams. I am a chartered member of The British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Informed by my Buddhist ideals of valuing the unique potential of every individual, I take a humanistic holistic approach – being with the whole person rather than simply treating a diagnosis. Having trained in Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural models I work integratively to adapt treatment to your individual needs. Moreover, I take into account the body and spiritual practices to help make meaning from your experiences where appropriate. Regardless of the approach I use, I believe that the most important aspect of any therapy is the working relationship that develops between therapist and client and I endeavour to create a safe non-judgemental space in which you are free to explore all parts of your personality.
