Michelle Lazar (Exploring Change)
“What can I say? My gratitude for you is immeasurable. Today I start living again, not merely existing. You made my journey worthwhile and I feel like a different man.”
These are not my words, they belong to a recent client and are one of the many reasons I love the job I do. So why might you choose me as your counsellor, let me tell you a little about myself and what I can offer. I hope this helps with your decision making.
Most of us have the ability to figure out for ourselves what we need or what best course of action would be beneficial for us to achieve of hopes, desires and our full potential in life.
From time to time, however we can get a little lost or maybe overwhelmed. Having someone to talk to that will give us space to explore our thoughts and feelings can be just what we need. I wonder if I can provide that environment for you. No judgements or expectations, just an empathic, therapeutic, professional relationship for you to visit and see what you can discover.
Maybe you know exactly what the problem is and you just need to say the words, let it all out and lighten the burden. Maybe you’re not sure but you feel something isn’t quite right and you’d like to explore some thoughts and ideas. Maybe you are behaving in ways that are not serving you well and you want to understand why you do these things and explore ways of changing them. All of these, and more, are possibilities.
I passionately believe in the value of working therapeutically with clients of all ages.
Through my work with adults it is clear to me that our formative years have a direct effect on our adult lives. Causing issues from relationship and communication difficulties, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and substance misuse through to suicidal feelings, thoughts and actualisation.
Therefore, offering creative, therapeutic interventions and support to children and young people allows an opportunity for exploration, self-awareness and resilience building. By doing so, it is possible to reduce or even eliminate future impact on mental health and life choices, encouraging the growth of valuable members of society. Can I be of assistance here in some way for your child?
I believe in the power of universality and community. If you are part of a group that would benefit from a facilitated therapeutic group session, I may be able to provide this for you. Can I be of assistance to your group in some way?
