About me
Hello, my name is Michelle,
As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I am all too aware of just how daunting taking that initial step towards counselling can be. The mere fact that you are reading this now means you are just a phone call away from putting that right.
While we sometimes turn to a friend or family member in our hour of need, it is when the problem lies with our nearest and dearest that we should consult with a professional.
This is where I can help.
My time in counselling has taught me that no two people are the same. The counselling process is much the same as this, as there are many different styles of therapy that can be applied. It is my ability to focus on each individual or couple, using a combination of contemporary, psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive behavioral therapies to assist and guide my clients to understanding the concerns that they face.
I work in ways that respect the individuality of the client, regardless of gender, race, religion, age, culture, education and sexuality. You will be welcomed into a warm and caring environment where confidentiality and privacy are assured.
Please feel free to visit my website, email or call me without obligation with any questions you may have. I look forward to your call.
The counselling process is about finding ways to deal more effectively with feelings, behaviours, relationships, and life's issues.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists
COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Counselling is a confidential, professional service. Clients would meet with the counsellor in a safe environment, in order to talk about their problems, enabling them to look at many aspects of their life, their relationships, and themselves in a way that they may not have considered, or been able to face before.
Counselling can also be used to help increase self awareness, help promote better relationships with people, as well as improve self confidence and self esteem.
The counsellor may help the client to examine in detail, the behaviour or situations which are proving troublesome, and to find an area where it would be possible to initiate some change.
The counselling process is about finding ways to deal more effectively with feelings, behaviours, relationships, and life's issues.
