About me

Hello and welcome to my page. I am glad you have found me here on Counselling Directory.

I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychotherapist.

My main working approach is Person-Centred. What this means is, in session I am compassionate with a real interest in you and your unique life experience. I provide an empathic, congruent and a non-judgmental space. I will listen and encourage you to explore your situation honestly. Your sessions will be guided by your needs and supported by my professional approach to therapy.

You may be thinking about your reason or reasons for coming to counselling and I appreciate that you may being finding this difficult. As a Psychotherapist I am aware of how common it is to struggle with life's difficulties without ever seeking personal support for yourself.

Discussing your problem in where you will be free from judgement, feel safe, supported, and accepted will help you make sense of what is going on for you. Together we can explore different options to help you facilitate the changes you would like to make in your life.

Counselling can amongst other things provide clarity, personal understanding, and increase self-awareness, self-expression, and self-development.  It can also help you to understand and make meaning behind some of your feelings, thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

The therapeutic process will enable you to find your own inner resources to deal with the problem or issue in your own unique way.

In recent years I have worked with and supported adults, and young people with the following:
Bereavement, grief
Self-esteem
Stress & Anxiety
Suicidal Feelings
Relationship Problems incl. abuse, separation & divorce
Anger
Sexuality
Issues around parenting
Cultural issues

This is not an exhaustive list, please contact me to discuss your own personal concerns and needs.

I offer face-to-face sessions, walk and talk therapy, online sessions, or a hybrid way of working, depending on your needs. If you have physical challenges, please let me know, and we can discuss how I can support your needs to enable you to access sessions.

If you would like to have a conversation with me about how therapy can work for you, I offer online or a face-to-face consultation if you prefer.

With all good wishes for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a MA in Social Sciences, a BA(Hons) in Humanities, and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Level 5).

My training was Pluralistic Psychotherapy.  My main modality is person-centred.

Person-centred counselling theory, is also known as client-centred therapy. It is a therapeutic approach that emphasises the following aspects:

Placing the client at the center of the therapeutic process, avoiding diagnosis or labeling of clients, harnessing the client's natural self-healing process, and emphasising the importance of the therapeutic relationship and empathic understanding.
