Michele Mennitto (Menny) PgDip Supervision, PgDip Couns (CYP), Dip Couns MBACP
Rhondda Cynon Taff
- About Me:
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and clinical supervisor Registered Member of the BACP.
I see clients in a number of arenas including community based settings, private practice and as part of the Rhondda Cynon Taf Carer's support service.
As well as the above-mentioned I have experience in school-based settings and GP practice.
I am an integrative counsellor this means my approach to the work we will do together is informed by a number of counselling schools; this works very well as it allows me to adapt my work to the best way to suit your needs.
- About the Counselling
Whatever issue you are experiencing, you have made your first step in looking for help.
I too had an experience as client and I know how difficult it can be to make the decision to engage into counselling and having to talk to a complete stranger.
I want you to know that whichever mean of contacting me you will choose I will never put any pressure onto you to make a decision, i will be happy to answer any question you have about the way I work and what you can expect from me.
If you are the concerned parent of a young person please feel free to ask any questions.
I know it can be very anxiety provoking to refer your son/daughter for counselling, as a parent myself I would have a number of questions too, for this reason I am happy for you to be present during the first assessment session, hopefully this would allow you to feel less anxious and for your son/daughter to make autonomous use of the confidential space offered in counselling.
For all my clients there-where adults or young people under the age of 18 I will be respectful of your choices, I will not direct you or give advice, I will offer you a confidential space and most importantly I will only work with you if you make the autonomous decision to come to me,
- Number and Frequency of Sessions
The most common question from clients is about the number of sessions; this is a difficult one and my answer is:
"It's up to You, some clients have left after 3 sessions and some after 30; however the average is 8 sessions; some clients take their sessions weekly some forthrightly".
Most counsellors preferred way of working is on weekly basis, I would rather leave this as your choice as it is important for me to work at your pace.
I know from experience that a great number of clients find it difficult to make a decision in regard to frequency and number of sessions for this reason we will - at agreed intervals - review the work we done together and this will allow You to decide if to take more sessions or not; some clients take few months break between blocks of sessions, this can be helpful when there are multiple issues to address.
- Session's Fees
You can see my fees at the bottom of the page.
Please before you make a decision based on my fee structure, feel free to discuss this with me.
If you are experiencing financial hardship I offer as part of my social policy up to 8 sessions at the reduced fee of £15 per session.
Please note that I can only take one client per time on this fee structure, this mean you may have a waiting time before we can start working together; you will have an indication of this during our initial conversation.
- How to Contact Me:
You can get in touch by e-mail or phone.
If you choose to contact me by phone, the best way is by sending me a text message and i will ring you back within 3 hours, I will always text you first to make sure you still are in the position of being able to take my call.
It is important that you choose the right therapist and that person may not be me hence, there-where our first point of contact is by e-mail or phone I will be available to answer any questions you have, hopefully allowing you to make an informed choice about the counselling.
