About me
You're finding yourself at a crossroads, carrying burdens that have become too heavy to bear alone. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety that follows you like a shadow, or depression that colours your world in shades of gray. Maybe you'r facing challenges in your relationships-feeling misunderstood, disconnected, or caught in cycles of conflict that leave you exhausted and disheartened.
You might be dealing with the aftermath of trauma, whether from childhood experiences, difficult relationships, or significant life events that continue to impact your present. The past may feel like it's still in control, influencing your reactions, your relationship, and your belief in what's possible for your future.
Perhaps you're navigating complex family dynamics, possibly even relationships with narcissistic individuals who've left you questioning your reality and worth. You might recognize patterns repeating across generations and feel determined to create something different for yourself and those you love.
You could be supporting a loved one with neurodivergence, addiction, or mental health challenges, and finding yourself depleted in the process, wondering how to maintain your own wellbeing while caring for others. Or you might be grieving a profound loss, whether recent or from years past, that still carries a heaviness in your heart.
Maybe you're at a transition point- changing careers, entering or leaving relationships, watching children grow up and leave home, or confronting mid-life questions about purpose and meaning. These transitions, while natural, can leave you feeling unmoored and uncertain about the path ahead.
You want to feel like yourself again, even if it feels distant right now: peace of mind, healthier relationships, freedom from the grip of past experiences, and clarity about your path forward. You want to wake up feeling hopeful rather than dreading the day ahead. You want to feel equipped to handle life's inevitable challenges without being overwhelmed by them. You want to reconnect with joy and purpose in your daily life.
You've tried handling these challenges on your own - reading self help books, following advice from friends, perhaps even attempting to push these feelings inside. But the weight remains, and you're recognising that having skilled, compassionate support through this journey could make all the difference.
You're seeking someone who truly listens, not just to respond, but to understand. Someone who won't judge your struggles or offer simplistic solutions, but instead will walk alongside you with genuine compassion and practical guidance. You need a counsellor that recognises your unique story while offering evidence-based approaches that can help you create meaningful change.
You're ready for transformation, even if that readiness comes with hesitation. You understand that it's not always comfortable, but you're willing to explore new perspectives with the right support. Above all, you want to work with someone who sees your full humanity - not just your challenges, but also your strengths, your resilience, and your capacity for healing and growth.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. Perhaps you're wondering if your challenges are "serious enough" to warrant counselling, or if anyone could truly understand what you're experiencing. Maybe you've tried therapy before with disappointing results, or you're concerned about being judged for your struggles.
These hesitations are completely natural. Taking steps toward healing often begins with uncertainty, and it takes courage to share your story with someone new. I want you to know that whatever brings you to counselling - whether it feels monumental or modest to you - deserves attention and care.
Now at 47, through my own extensive counselling I've navigated my own life challenges, including experiences with family dysfunction and supporting loved ones through serious illness. These personal journeys, alongside my professional background working in the helping professions, homeless shelters, and with individuals in recovery, have taught me that while pain is inevitable in life, suffering can be transformed when we're not facing it alone.
In our work together, you'll find a space where all parts of your experience are welcome. The pain and the joy. The certainty and the doubt. The setbacks and the triumphs. I believe that healing happens within relationships built on trust, genuine connection, and mutual respect, and I'm committed to creating that foundation with each client.
You don't have to have everything figured out before making contact - exploration is part of the process, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. Whether you're in crisis or simply sensing that life could be more fulfilling, I invite you to reach out for an initial consultation.
Our first conversation will be about getting to know you - your concerns, your hopes, and what you're looking for in counselling. There's no obligation to continue if it doesn't feel like the right fit, as finding the right therapeutic relationship is essential for effective work together.
I look forward to the possibility of supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth and a more fulfilling life.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
