There are times when life can seem very complicated and confusing, when it feels like we've lost our way and don't know which way to turn. We may find that the ways of coping that have served us well up until now, are for some reason no longer working and we just can't go on the way we are.
Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore your emotions and discuss all or any issues that are affecting your health and well-being. It is an opportunity to speak privately and in confidence with a professional who will not judge you or tell you what to do, but will respect you as an individual and encourage you to find your own solutions so that you can move on with your life. For example
- Relationship difficulties
- Low self-esteem
- Living with illness or disability
- Loss and grief
- Addictions such alcohol, substance misuse
- Eating disorders
- Mid-life crisis
- Workplace stress related problems
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered Member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, which I adhere to so that I provide both an ethical and professional service. I attend regular supervision to ensure that I am able to offer the best to people who use my services. I recognise that we are all unique individuals and by working with an integrative approach means that I tailor the therapy by using different approaches to best suit your needs.
The Initial Session
I offer an initial counselling session which is used to explore the possibility of our working together. The relationship between you and your counsellor is at the core of the therapy. We will explore the nature of your present issues or concerns, and will discuss your expectations for your counselling. We will also agree on goals and strategies which may help you to move forward. It may be appropriate to explore past experiences to help provide into current concerns.
If you wish to continue I can offer either short or long term counselling. Our sessions would normally be weekly.
My consulting address is in easy reach of Pitstone and surrounding villages, Tring, Aston Clinton, Wendover, Halton, Aylesbury, Weston Turnville, Berkhamsted, Northchurch, Hemel Hempstead, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
