About me

Hi, I'm Mike, a professional counsellor offering you a safe, supportive and completely confidential space to explore whatever issues you're facing.

As a person centred counsellor, I believe that we carry our own answers within ourselves. The problem of course is that often they're drowned out by negative thoughts and feelings from ourselves (and others) which prevent us from listening to our own true hearts. Working with a counsellor like me can help you to overcome being driven by these negative thoughts and feelings, allowing you the freedom to grow in whichever direction you want to.

I have a special interest in working with musicians, artists or other creative professionals who may be struggling with self confidence or anxiety, as well as those who may be facing challenges with depression or addiction issues.

Getting started:

We can meet for a free informal chat online, over coffee or a walk on the beach so I can get a better understanding of the issues you face and discuss with you how therapy could help. I am very experienced in offering online counselling.

If you're interested in learning more then please email me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • CPCAB Level 2 Award in Counselling Skills
  • NCFE Level 2 Award in Helping Skills
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

For years I've worked with many musicians and other creative individuals as well as with those suffering from alcohol & drug dependency (and other addictions including gambling and sex). I use the understanding I've gained from this work, along with the core counselling conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard to support my clients which helps them to gain a greater understanding and new perspective of themselves, freeing them from being trapped in uncomfortable thoughts and behaviours.

I am a member of the BACP (MBACP) and adhere to their Ethical Code of Practice.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
