Michael McLinn (MBACP)
I believe that in the right environment, we remain whole, uninhibited and naturally driven towards the fulfilment of our desires and potential.
Other people’s agendas, our own anxieties and painful events in our lives can separate us from this forward motion and better judgement. This can manifest mentally, bodily, emotionally and even dynamically in our careers, habits and close relationships.
Combining principles of Person-Centred and Psychodynamic counselling, my Integrative therapy model is focused in delivery and holistic in approach. By creating the right environment together; I work with clients to take an honest look at those emotions and dynamics, putting the unwanted ones back where they belong and ultimately helping them get back on track.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (362456), I abide by their Ethical Framework.
For me, this means having a body who support my work and provide a code of conduct to work by. For you, this provides a rule on the standards registered therapists must meet; and somewhere to complain if you feel you have been badly treated.
Something very important in counselling and to me is confidentiality, so I uphold General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Since qualifying I have remained committed to continued professional development, undertaking further training with a particular interest in postnatal mental health.
My experience includes work for Cavendish Clinic, the Copleston Creative Therapy Project, My Healthcare Clinic, Quaggy Community Counselling and Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group.
