Michael Lipo ~ Registered MBACP
REDUCED RATES FOR TELEPHONE OR VIDEO CHAT NOW AVAILABLE. Worried about the state of things at the moment? Please get in touch. These are strange and unprecedented times - I can help navigate the uncertainty and anxiety.
Hi, I'm Michael, a qualified counsellor and Registered member of the BACP.
I have an integrative qualification which means I have learned a variety of ways to help whoever needs it, which includes CBT focused therapy; psychodynamic therapy; existential therapy and person-centred therapy. The counselling will be about finding what works for the client, working out what it is they need and exploring it together at their own pace whilst also being encouraged to challenge themselves.
Is counselling right for you?
To even be considering counselling tells me you have a need to talk to someone, and I believe I can be that person. I will be completely honest about my ability to help you. Counselling can help most people, if not everyone, to deal with whatever it is that's causing them to seek help.
I work with people from all backgrounds, from adolescents through to older adults. Therapy does not work in a one size fits all manner, and together with my clients, I establish a pattern of working which suits their needs.
Once you've made contact (email or telephone) we can have a relaxed initial session and you can see for yourself what it's like and whether we can continue to work together. After that, we'll work out the details but you don't need to consider that at the moment. The most important thing is taking one step at a time.
Getting in touch...
If you have any questions or would like to book an initial session with me, then I welcome you to get in touch today. You can either call, text or email with and I will be happy to hear from you.

What if you don't like talking?
There are always other ways to have a session. I have experience with using drawings and writing to express emotions, as well as using sand tray and figurines. There is no pressure for you to talk and it may just take some time. You will be supported to use whichever tools they feel most comfortable with and, when the time is right, encouraged to step out of your comfort zone.
What if you change your mind?
There is no obligation to return to counselling if it isn't right for you...
There is no contract that says you need to stay for a certain amount of time. If you would it to end, then that's what is right for you. Ideally, however, we could work through whatever the issue is. And, if we've been working together for a little while then it would be great to have an ending. Otherwise, it really is all up to you. There's no pressure to do anything that doesn't feel right. You need to find what works and go at it at your own pace. No pressure.
