About me

I am qualified and experienced in delivering all counselling and supervision needs over the phone or via video sessions.

I am a person-centred counsellor and therapeutic supervisor based in Eastbourne. I offer a safe, confidential and gentle space for you to explore potentially difficult, tender or traumatic aspects of life.

I understand that there are many reasons for people to seek counselling and those reasons can be very painful. I am naturally very empathic and non-judgemental, I believe in the power of the relationship between myself and my clients. The connections we develop, combined with offering specific conditions through counselling can have profound effects when working towards positive and long lasting change.

As well as 1:1 counselling I offer couples counselling and family therapy, promoting individual growth and connection as part of a group.

As a person-centred/integrative supervisor I provide space for counsellors to explore their work, creatively and restoratively, ensuring their ethical obligations of working in the clients best interest and promoting self-care.

If you would like to know more about counselling or supervision, or if you have any questions I would love to hear from you, 07738879691. Warm wishes, Mia.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and supervisor. I am fully insured and a registered member of the BACP

I am experienced in many aspects of therapy. A considerable amount of the work I do is around anxiety and depression. I believe in respectfully treating my clients as a whole. I feel we live in very complex times and with that comes so many challenges to our day to day experience of life.

I am naturally a very creative person and enjoy drawing on my experience and training working creatively with adults as well as children and young people, couples and families and supervises.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
