About me

I offer face to face sessions in Exeter, Devon and online sessions via Zoom. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy.

I am a calm, warm and approachable person, who values and respects every person as an individual.  I provide a safe, empathic and confidential space, free of judgement.

I have a non-directive, person-centred approach, but also integrate aspects of other counselling theories and creative exercises. My approach values the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client – I believe this is at the heart of the counselling process.

Counselling can look different for everyone and can bring up a multitude of emotions – some more challenging or unexpected than others. I will be there with you to help you navigate this important but potentially challenging process. I will support you to develop a stronger sense of self and a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I will endeavour to step inside your shoes and to see the world from your perspective. I aim not to provide advice or answers, but to work with and alongside you, on your personal journey of healing and self-discovery.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I trained at the Iron Mill College in Exeter and hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (BACP Accredited).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I understand that it can be difficult to take this first step. I am here to support you with this process.

If you are interested in booking an initial session, please get in touch via text or email - I aim to respond within 48 hours. We can arrange a short phone call and get an initial session booked in. This first session gives us the opportunity to discuss your needs and what you're hoping to get from the counselling process.

If you would like to continue, we can arrange a regular day and time to meet. Sessions are usually weekly, but we can discuss other options if you feel this may not work for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.
