About me

I am a BPC accredited, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, working in both private practice and the NHS. I have extensive experience of working with adults and young people in the following areas: anxiety, depression, trauma and addiction issues.  I provide both long term and time-limited psychotherapy.  I offer a minimum of once weekly sessions in a quiet and confidential space where you are free to talk safely without fear of rejection, judgement or blame.

I work psychodynamically believing that current patterns of behaviour are often affected by experiences earlier on and that our choices in the present are influenced by what has happened to us in the past.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling can be helpful in dealing with:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • family issues
  • bereavement and loss
  • postnatal depression
  • anger
  • low self esteem
  • relationship difficulties
  • work related problems
  • eating disorders
  • abuse
  • personality disorders
  • and trauma.

This type of therapy is non prescriptive, you choose what to talk about in sessions and together we can try and understand why it is you react and behave in certain ways. The relationship to the therapist is a crucial element to the therapy, highlighting unconscious patterns of behaviour which can then gradually become identified and in doing so help us to develop the capacity to understand and change them. Understanding more about both past and present relationships and increasing self-awareness can help affect change.

We will meet for an initial consultation, which lasts for 50 minutes during which time we will be able to explore what your needs are and how psychotherapy may help you. Should we work together sessions last 50 minutes and take place at the same time every week. All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence, referral from your GP is not required for an appointment.

I have worked as the Clinical Lead and Manager of a psychotherapy service in a large men’s prison, as well as having worked in an outpatient NHS psychotherapy service.  Alongside my private practice I currently work for an NHS Forensic Psychotherapy Department in West London. I have extensive experience of working with clients who have suffer from: anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, PTSD, addiction issues, low self-esteem, sexual and physical abuse,  and anger issues.  I also offer Mentalisation Based Therapy.

To arrange an initial consultation or discuss any questions or concerns you may have you can either call me or email me.
