About me

I am an integrative Counsellor, I work on the principle that it’s not a one size fit all deal. We are all unique and individual, processing emotion and thoughts in our own way.

As an Integrative counsellor I am trained in a few modalities of counselling in order to best fit the individual and their circumstances, what works for one may not work for another. I truly believe the relationship within the counselling space has an impact on the work, and building a healthy relationship together aids the therapy. Whether it be bereavement, grief, anxiety we can find a way of working that connects for you. Sometimes life happens, and our experiences tend to knock us off course often leading to feeling ‘ stuck’, having conflicting feelings or even an intrusive mind. Through our work you will become aware of your relationships, limitations, needs, and your relationship with yourself and how to improve on them.

You don’t have to be at rock bottom to seek help but, if you are and wanting to explore and heal we can do this together.

Counselling can be helpful in supporting a number of concerns such as; Stress/pressures, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Self Esteem and Change to name a few.

When Enquiring please state days and times that work for you as I have limited availability at present. Initial response to enquiries will be made via email. We will initially arrange a brief 15/20 minute telephone discussion to enable you to establish what I offer in my practice and see if thats what you are needing/wanting. This is an important first step to establishing whether we can imagine a relationship together. The relationship between Counsellor and Client is an important one that can have an impact on the work. The therapeutic relationship is fundamental for any positive change to occur. It is through this connection that successful therapy can be found.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
