About me

Welcome to Melina Therapy private and confidential Counselling, Life Coaching and Clinical Supervision, offering a range of therapies to suit your individual need. Bringing together over 20 years experience as a therapist and supporting a wide variety of mental health issues including; anxiety, depression, low confidence and self esteem, grief, panic attacks and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. With expertise in; addictions, relationships problems, sexual abuse, trauma and P.T.S.D. We all know how challenging 2020 was and the impact that this has had on our mental health, so kick start your new year with positivity and seek the support that you deserve.

Consider now to be the time to take that first step and seek that additional support that you may have been thinking about for some time. As we continue to find our way through these challenging times and the associated feelings of anxiety, depression, panic attacks, feeling sad, isolated and generalised anxiety (GAD), counselling can offer you a safe space where you do not have to struggle and feel alone anymore. Where you can explore your emotions and be completely honest without fear of consequences, because most importantly you are with someone who is professionally trained and impartial. Here you will be deeply listened to and feel held and supported as you find ways forward. Whether you have unresolved childhood issues, past trauma or struggling with recent events, or finding yourself caught in negative thoughts and behaviours, then counselling can really help. Now is a good time to seek that additional support and to lessen the burden of worrys and anxiety's that you are carrying to find new positive ways forward.

anxiety & depression......

Anxiety and depression are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling, I can help you recover motivation, perspective and find the joy that you seek or once had in your life.

trauma & PTSD.....

Many individual's can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances, whether that is from the past or relating to current events. Anxiety, fear and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. With expertise in trauma and PTSD I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.

I work from an Integrative approach which is drawn from a variety of  therapies to create a balanced and bespoke approach to your therapy support. Applying Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T), Mindfulness, Neuro Linguistic Programming (N.L.P) and Solution Focused Therapy skills and technique to tailor my therapeutic care to your individual needs.

All appointments are available remotely and by online platforms and from the safety of your own home. Counselling can be short term to longer term relationships, depending on your individual needs and circumstance.

Melina Therapy Life Coaching Programme

wanna get back up & start again?

  • start where you are
  • use what you can
  • do what you can

After the difficult year that we have experience and continue to find our way through, Life coaching is ideal if you are want to make some sort of positive change happen in your life and you need to build your confidence and belief in yourself to do so. Or, if you have struggled to maintain past achievments, then you may benefit from having someone to be accountable to , but without judgement. Each person has their own definition of happiness and succes and therefore I have created a coaching approach which will help you identify what you want and formulate an achievable plan to succeed. Leaving you feeling more happier and fulfilled.

We will begin by addressing the smaller 'stuff', like your negativity and lack of belief and get to work on de-cluttering and de-toxing and achieving 'early wins'., which will make you feel happier and more confident and lead you to the bigger 'wins' (goals). Whether that is  in work, home, confidence, relationships, health and fitness. I have a unique set of skills drawn from 20 years therapeutic experience, combined with Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) coaching techniques, to enable you to achieve your goals and most importantly, continue to maintain them.

Business and Organisational Coaching

As more organisations are recognising the benefits of coaching to support their staff, I am experienced in providing professional coaching for frontline workers and the NHS, Charities, Schools and Mentoring Programmes.

Couple and Relationship Counselling

Are you experiencing difficulties within your relationship? Maybe these problems have been magnified during the lockdown and this feels like the right time to start to address them. I am experienced in working with a vast variety of relationship issues, whether your relationship has lost its spark or you have grown apart. If there is arguing and conflict or a lack of open positive communication in your relationship. A lack of intimacy or a betrayal of trust that you are struggling to overcome or forgive. As an experienced couple counsellor I can offer you a safe space for each of you to feel able to express your feelings, feel heard and have the support and guidance  with someone who is professionally trained but impartial to each of you and your situation.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
