About me

Welcome to Melina Therapy and home to my range of counselling, coaching and supervisory services. Bringing together over 20 years experience as a therapist and supporting a wide variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, confidence and low self esteem. With expertise in addictions, relationships, sexual abuse, trauma and PTSD. I offer private and confidential appointments by telephone and remote online platforms and from the safety and security of your own home. Appointments can be a one off to longer term and at a pace that feels right for you.

If you are suffering from unresolved issues from your past or feel that you are struggling alone, this may be the time for you to seek the support that you deserve and begin to heal. In these uncertain times you may have been experiencing many uncomfortable emotions, with the most common being fear and anxiety. These symptoms are associated  with traumatic circumstances and the feeling of loss and uncertainty and can linger during and post traumatic events. With a deep understanding and expertise in panic, anxiety and  trauma I can help support and guide you through these difficult times.

You may find that talking to someone who is professionally trained but impartial can really help and feel like a 'weight has been lifted'. My focus is to listen deeply to gain understanding and build trust and openness. Creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or consequences. My approach is Integrative drawn from a range of therapies, which include Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T), Mindfulness, Neuro Linguistic Programming (N.L.P) and Solution Focused Therapy. This enables me to tailor my care to suit your individual needs.

Life coaching is ideal if you are wanting to make some sort of positive change in your life, whether that is in your home-life, career, confidence, relationships, health and well-being. I offer individualised coaching sessions to help you overcome any obstacles that may be stopping or keeping you stuck and develop ways forward achieving your goals. As some clients benefit from a combination of counselling and coaching, I am happy to discuss these options with you.

Similarly as more organisations are recognising the benefits of coaching to support their staff, I am experienced in providing professional coaching for organisations which include charities, the NHS, schools, trainee and mentoring programmes.

Couple Counselling

Are you experiencing difficulties within your relationship? Maybe these problems have been magnified during the lockdown and this feels like the right time to start to address them. I am experienced in working with a vast variety of relationship issues, whether your relationship has lost its spark or you have grown apart. If there is arguing and conflict or a lack of open positive communication in your relationship. A lack of intimacy or a betrayal of trust that you are struggling to overcome or forgive. As an experienced couple counsellor I can offer you a safe space for each of you to feel able to express your feelings, feel heard and have the support and guidance  with someone who is professionally trained but impartial to each of you and your situation.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
