About me

I am an experienced UKCP and BACP registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and Clinical Supervisor. I work with individuals, couples, families and groups, offering both short term counselling or longer term in depth psychotherapy, depending on your needs. I also offer clinical supervision both individually and in small groups.

I have many years experience working with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties and mental health issues, including complex trauma, relationship problems, anxiety, loss & bereavement, personality disorders, addiction and depression. I provide a safe, supportive and confidential space, that is outside of your everyday life, where together we can explore the difficulties you are experiencing. I will work with you towards an accurate understanding of your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours and help you to resolve any difficulties.

I work using a relational and integrative approach, which means that I draw on a variety of different theories and ways of working work, including Transactional Analysis, Attachment theory and neuroscience, Object relations and CBT. I relate to my clients on an authentic and human level and I tailor the therapy to best suit your needs. Working relationally means I pay particular attention to the dynamics emerging in our sessions and this provides a useful opportunity for us to explore them together, which can help increase your insight into possible repetitive patterns that you might bring into other relationships. I am dedicated to working with you to gain a deeper understanding of how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you. The ultimate aim of our work together is to help you develop an improved sense of emotional wellbeing so that you can enjoy life to the full.

With couples I work with you to explore the relationship dynamics and patterns that occur between you, and help identify the core issues that lead to you feeling dissatisfied. Together we address the areas of difference that create conflicts, and we work on communication and conflict resolution skills, so that you can move forward in whatever way is right for you.

For both individuals and couples I suggest an initial session at my normal rate. This is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to tell me your reasons for seeking therapy, and to explore your possible expectations, and think about goals. You are not obliged to book any further sessions. If we agree to work together then we book further sessions, but if for any reason either of us believes that an alternative route or different person is needed, I will do my best to refer you on to someone suitable.

I would normally expect to see you weekly and sessions are of 50 minutes duration, usually on the same day and at the same time each week. Sometimes it is possible to arrange longer sessions or more frequent sessions, if we both agree this would be desirable.

Please email me with your inquiry and my aim is to get back to you within 24 hours during the working week. I am happy to speak on the phone if you wish to discuss anything further or to make arrangements for an initial session, however please bear in mind that I am often in session with clients and therefore unable to respond to calls immediately. My therapy room is 5 minutes from Ealing Broadway station.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP

UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
