Melanie Joan Tucker MBACP
I work as an independent therapist from home and I offer a warm and friendly therapeutic service. My aim is to create a non judgemental environment in which my clients feel comfortable and safe enough to be able to reflect and consider how to live their lives with greater awareness. Together we will look at identifying your strengths, your unhelpful thinking patterns and to develop better ways for you to live. Counselling is a collaborative process and we go at a pace that suits you. Each session will last 50 minutes and what we talk about is confidential and entirely up to you.
I am an accredited therapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy www.bacp.co.uk and a member of The Association of Family Therapists. I am ASIST trained (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training). I have gained experience as an individual and a couples' counsellor as well as a telephone counsellor. I work in in a variety of settings which have included employer assisted programmes, privately and in the voluntary sector. I have worked with organisations such as Mind, Marie Currie and Cruse Bereavement Care.
I provide both short and long term counselling to adults. Sometimes people may need one or two sessions to create a better way of living for themselves whereas others may feel that nine or ten sessions are more appropriate. Together we can see what you want from your counselling sessions and end when you feel you have arrived at where you want to be.
I work with clients supporting them overcome anxiety, relationship difficulties and trauma both past and present
I offer appointments to suit your busy work/life schedule.
I am a situated just off the A470, 7 miles north of Cardiff and 2.5 miles from Caerphilly. There is a bus stop just a 5 minute walk away.
