About me

I am a psychotherapist with a degree in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy from Warwick University. If you are struggling or seeking support in any aspect of your life, or feel stuck in a negative cycle, I am here to help you find a way through, with compassion, authenticity and professionalism.

Deciding to ask for counselling can be a sure way of moving forward with any issues or challenges you may be experiencing.

Person-centred counselling starts from a position of believing that you, the client, are the expert in your life. It offers the opportunity to openly share and explore your issues in depth, while being listened to in a non-judgemental way. This can lead to greater insight and understanding of your situation, which in turn, can lead to resolving difficult feelings.

Alongside my private practice, I have worked for many years with a local charity providing counselling support to people who have experienced sexual abuse, rape or sexual violence at some time in their lives. I have also been a Wellbeing Counsellor for the UK’s largest Employee Assistance Provider.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

It is completely normal to feel apprehensive about reaching out for help and to question if you are doing the right thing. There is no obligation to sign up for sessions; calling or emailing is simply a way of starting a conversation.

The therapy I offer is person-centred so it will always be about what feels right for you. The key to successful therapy, above everything else, is the relationship between the client and the counsellor.

The first introductory session is an opportunity for you to gain a sense of how the counselling might feel for you. This session is free and can be held either on the phone or online.

If you wish to continue, we can then arrange face-to-face or online sessions to fit around your diary, whether weekly or every 2 weeks. I work at the Traditional Acupuncture Centre in Leamington Spa.

I am available between 8.30am and 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I am also available for evening sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
