About me

Hello, I’m Megan, and I warmly welcome you to New Leaf Therapy.
I’m a BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor, working with adults.

My approach is tailored to your individual needs, offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to explore any issues you may be facing. I believe a strong, trusting relationship is key to helping you feel heard and accepted.

As a client-led therapist, the sessions are guided by you. I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Counselling, drawing on Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt theories. I choose the approach that best suits you.

I’m not here to tell you what to do or “fix” you, I believe that you are the expert in your own thoughts, feelings and life history. I believe that attentive and compassionate listening can help you better understand yourself, boost your self-esteem and empower you to respond more effectively to life’s challenges.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Walk & Talk Therapy

I’ve worked with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and family problems, self-esteem, grief, and loss. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and I am here to support you with acceptance, empathy, and warmth.

However you choose to focus your sessions I will be there to support you with insights and gentle reflections. Sharing your world with a counsellor can enhance your self awareness, strengthen your resilience and give you much more autonomy and empower you to live your life fully.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) - register number 408473. I am also fully insured and am committed to continued professional development to support my clients in the best way possible.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
