Megan Atkin (MBACP)
Looking to talk to someone in an open and non-judgmental space?
I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. What this essentially means to you is that our sessions are led by you. Person-centered therapy at it's core is a talking therapy in which, together, we will work to explore your issues. As a person-centred counsellor, I strongly believe the relationship between client and counsellor can be extremely therapeutic. I will not dictate your road to recovery but I will help you to unlock the answers I believe you hold to your own healing. As I believe each person is unique, I don't believe one approach works for everyone but I do have some knowledge of CBT and other therapeutic approaches that could be used when appropriate.
I offer a 20 minute free consultation to give you an opportunity to meet me and decide whether you would like me to be your counsellor. This is completely non-committal and merely a chance for you to see the space in which I work, have a chat with myself and see whether or not you feel it's a good fit.
Part of therapy is feeling comfortable around your therapist and I am keen to ensure that you feel this way if you wished to instruct me.
