About me
I am a warm, open person who has been a counsellor for over ten years. I am therefore experienced and can provide a safe space for you to explore what is troubling you, in a non-judgemental, totally confidential situation. My counselling orientation is basically as a ‘person centred’ practitioner. This means I take my lead from my clients. However I have knowledge and experience of working in different ways and so open to exploring the best and most effective ways to support you. I am also available after normal working hours, from midday till 7pm five days a week. I like to meet potential clients for an initial session and then if we decide I might be able to help you we would usually meet weekly. However that is negotiable. My fee is normally £50 for a 50min session.
I now offer online counselling using Zoom and my current clients have transitioned smoothly and a couple of new clients seem to be very comfortable with it.

I have experience in working in general counselling including; Abuse, Sexual abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, Eating disorders, Loss, Personal Development, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self Esteem, Self-Harm, Stress and Trauma.
I have gained a great deal from the many hours of Continuing Professional Development over the years.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

- I have been a volunteer counsellor for a charity for over ten years, as well as counselling children in the workplace.
- I have also worked in private practice and I am currently working towards my counselling accreditation.
- I offer supervision to other therapists within the agency I volunteer with.
I think mental health is so very important and much misunderstood. I am passionate about providing support for those who find themselves temporarily adrift, enabling them to make the adjustments required to regain their equilibrium. I believe counselling offers them a safe opportunity for individuals to experience growth and change.
