Maureen Fenner RMBACP. Dip. TC.Relationship & Bereavement Counsellor
I work in a solution based way, encouraging clients to find focus on what they want in life, and then exploring those choices with them. I listen to them and once we recognise the cause of the problem I may use some CBT [Cognitive Behaviour Therapy] by suggesting they begin writing down their negative thoughts and behaviours as this can often show what it is that is blocking their way through to achieving these goals.
My Communication Work With Families & Individuals
I specialise in helping individuals, couples and families learn how to manage their issues and I do this by showing them how communicate positively with each other, and learn how to listen to each other and to talk things through together. I know that many people have very unfulfilled lives, and are disappointed in what they are getting from life often due to mis-communication both with themselves and others. This might mean that you know what you want to do with life, but are afraid to share this with those close to you for fear of their negativity or perhaps you feel they might try and change your mind. But you can decide to change things, to make improvements in your life. You don't have to spend your days only doing things that will please others - people pleasing.
If this sounds as though it is something that you would like to try, please contact me. We will have a preliminary talk on the phone, and then I will offer you an intial appointment. We will work together within a kind, professional, confidential safe space in my office in Central Ashford.
My Bereavement Work
Grief is love. Everyone experiences loss and grief in their own way. I feel my role as a bereavement counsellor is to be open to allowing individuals to go along their own emotional path, and remain connected with them and share their experiences until they feel that they can begin to contemplate moving slowly forward in their own life, without their loved one, however long that may take.
