About me

Coronavirus / COVID 19 RESPONSE: In an effort to support NHS staff I will be offering counselling session's to NHS staff for the reduced rate of £10.00 per session. Enquires are still welcome from all, however, I will prioritise NHS staff currently.

During this difficult time I am offering telephone/online counselling session's to NHS staff at a reduced rate of £10.00 per session. As the demand and uncertainty grows on the national health service it is important for staff to have access to affordable and convenient support for the duration. Please feel free to get in touch with me.

How I can help

I will provide an environment that will allow us to safely explore and work through any issues that are troubling you and your unique experience of these issues. By offering a confidential and non-judgemental service we can work together at your pace to achieve positive change.

How I will work with you

As a Person-Centred counsellor it is not my role to offer you advice or my opinion about what you are experiencing in your life, you may even be at a point where the advice and opinions of others is adding pressure? Instead my role is to empower you towards your own solutions or decisions by offering you genuine empathy, acceptance and honesty.

You may require a space to work through emotions and feelings that you are unable to express elsewhere such as anxiety, sadness, grief or perhaps it's not something you can yet put a name to. You could be struggling to work through particular emotions and feel "stuck" with them or perhaps you are just overwhelmed at the moment and you don't really know how to approach what you are facing as its become to much. I can help you to process these emotions in a way that enables you to manage them effectively rather than these emotions overwhelming you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am experienced in working with a variety of clients including those suffering with anxiety, depression, low mood, grief, stress and low self-esteem. I currently work as a counsellor for Bupa. I have past experience providing counselling in an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) counselling service in Greater Manchester. I also have experience providing bereavement counselling for a hospital bereavement centre.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Getting started

It can be challenging finding the right counsellor for you because of this I offer the initial session at a reduced rate of £15.00 so that you can have the opportunity to meet with me and decide how you would like to proceed.

Please feel free to get in touch with me either by phone, you can leave a voicemail if there is no answer or send a text message. Or you can get in touch by email if you prefer. I will get back to you as soon as possible. From there we can arrange an initial appointment.

During the first session we can talk about what you are hoping for and wanting from counselling and from your counsellor. If you are comfortable to continue our sessions we will book in weekly sessions thereafter.

It can be quite daunting and stressful deciding on a counsellor and then taking the next step to reach out. That is why I aim to make this process as stress free and inviting for you as possible.

Please feel free to get in touch to ask any questions or to arrange an initial appointment.

Sessions will be 50 minutes in length.
