About me

Is life feeling overwhelming? Are you Struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, or the inability to say 'no'?

Life's challenges are unique, but you're not alone. Whether you're facing distress from a traumatic event, dealing the heartbreak of losing someone close (whether it's a family member or a cherished pet), or finding yourself at a crossroads in your relationship, I offer a compassionate, understanding space for you to explore and grow.

As a qualified counsellor with specialised training in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and humanistic approaches, my aim is to help you to explore and understand the things that have happened to you, to help you to make the changes that you want to make and come to terms with those that you can't..

How I Can Help?

Relationship Support: Whether it’s reigniting the spark or smoothing out the bumps, I’m exceptionally skilled at finding ways to strengthen your connections. Together, we'll navigate the complexities of your relationships to enhance intimacy and understanding.

Managing Anxiety: From general worries to those nagging social butterflies in your stomach, I offer effective strategies tailored to help you regain tranquility. My expertise will guide you towards a calmer, more peaceful state of mind.

Handling Grief with Care: I'm highly experienced in helping individuals through the deep sorrow of losing a loved one, whether it’s a cherished pet or a family member. With me, you'll find understanding and support to navigate your grief and begin healing.

Learning to Say No: It’s not always easy to put yourself first, especially if you're used to people-pleasing, but it’s so important. With my help, you can learn to set boundaries and prioritise your needs, essential steps to healthier relationships and better self-care. Let’s work together to help you find your voice and assert yourself with confidence.

Stories of Change

Finding Peace After Trauma: A client who suffered from intense anxiety and flashbacks after a serious car crash worked with me to reduce the overwhelm they felt. Together, we explored coping mechanisms that helped them not only return to their job, but to reconnect in their relationship and enjoy their life more fully.

Building Confidence: I worked with someone who felt undervalued and ignored in their workplace, leading to self-doubt and a reluctance to engage at work. Through our therapy sessions, we focused on developing assertiveness skills and strategies to effectively demonstrate their worth. The result was a significant boost in confidence, leading to a well-deserved promotion.

Why Work With Me?

As your therapist, I bring years of professional experience alongside a genuine passion for guiding people just like you through their unique emotional landscapes. I use a combination of tools and strategies to help with the here and now, as well as cognitive behavioural techniques and humanistic therapy, which means I can tailor the counselling to your personal needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I also work with those left behind after a sudden or unexpected death of a loved on. I have worked closely with those affected by serious road traffic collisions as a witness, as someone who has been in a crash or as someone who has lost a loved one on the road.

Since opening my private practice in 2021, I specialise in supporting people just like you through a variety of emotional challenges, including anxiety, relationship struggles, and trauma related to sudden or unexpected life events. My approach combines empathy with effective techniques like the Rewind Technique, known for stopping the after effects of being traumatised in just 1 or 2 sessions.

Whether you’re grappling with personal loss or need support managing life’s pressures, I offer tailored assistance that truly understands and addresses your needs. Book a free 20-minute consultation today to discover how we can work together towards your healing and empowerment.
