About me

My name is Matthew and I am a qualified counsellor. I have experience working with people facing life’s challenges and have seen first-hand the enormous potential for growth that we all have. Given the right conditions, anyone can develop and transform their lives in ways they might never have thought possible.

I provide a safe space where you can freely express yourself in an open and non-judgemental environment. By listening, exploring and understanding whatever issues are most pressing for you at that moment, together we can find to find a way forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I feel passionate about making a difference to other people’s lives and have been inspired by the huge capacity for positive change that I have seen in people I have worked with over the years. Whether they are overcoming obstacles that have arisen in their lives, finding it difficult to get the most out of their lives, or facing issues that have been struggling with for many years.

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and BACP Certificate of Proficiency.

We can begin with an initial phone consultation, which is free and where we can discuss what you are looking to achieve from counselling, and you can ask any questions you might have. There is no obligation to make a commitment at this point and you are welcome to go away afterwards and think about it.

  • Initial meeting and assessment - £45
  • Full session - £45
  • Discretionary rate - £30

I have a limited number of places at a discretionary rate available for students and those on lower incomes.

For those in the local area who have difficulty accessing the location, please contact me about the possibility of arranging a home visit.

If you are struggling with something, you don’t have to face it alone. Whether it’s me or someone else, I strongly encourage you to continue with a process that may give you the assistance you need to live your life more fully.

I understand that asking for help can be difficult, but please feel free to contact me without any obligation to see whether we can work together to help you move forward.
