About me
Hi I'm Matt. I am a qualified and professionally registered Integrative Psychotherapist. My aim is to provide a safe and non-judgemental space to address your needs, and to work in partnership with you.
I work on the core principle that you are the person who knows you best - regardless of how 'stuck', isolated or difficult life may feel at the moment. I work together with you to help guide and illuminate a way forward that respects your values and beliefs, and supports your desire for meaningful change.
I aim to provide an inclusive, reflective and relational therapeutic practice which aligns itself with your needs and respects your personal and unique lived experience.
Reaching out and making contact to embark on your first counselling experience can often feel daunting or unnerving. The first step is often the hardest bit - so please be assured that your call or email will be treated with sensitivity and respect. Whether you are new to counselling - or returning with a new goal or challenge to address - why not make that move today ? Call me on 07519 591165 or email: matt@summit-counselling.com and we'll arrange a free, no obligation consultation call to start the ball rolling.
I am available to see you in-person, online or via telephone consultation.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I currently work for half the week in Suicide Postvention. This is specifically aimed at families, partners, friends and wider communities who have been affected by losing someone close through suicide. The aim is to tackle the stigma and silence that often surrounds suicide, and to increase awareness of the impact that suicide has on families and communities.
