Mary Lavelle MBACP, Dip CBT, FdSc Counselling and Psychotherapy, Bsc Psychology
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, with over 13 years experience, studying and working in the fields of Psychology and Mental Health. I am a registered member of the BACP and thereby work in accordance with their ethical framework.
Counselling is incredibly important to me and I always endeavour to work to the highest standards. I aim to create a space where the client feels safe, whilst also communicating trust, compassion and understanding so that I may understand what their current experience is truly like for them. I integrate various schools and models of therapy, which I have assessed, are the best intervention for a client in each session and closely monitor their reaction to these. My aim is to allow clients to have a space whereby they can explore their inner self and fully express themselves, without ever having any fear of judgement. In this therapeutic capacity it is expected that a person can become stronger, and find the awareness and ability within themselves to overcome the concerns that brought them to therapy. I have always been enthralled by the nuances of human experience and connectedness, and feel grateful to be given the opportunity to experience the humility of others in therapy as they share their deepest parts of their selves, and also to be witness to them whilst they find the ability to overcome their problems and find resources and opportunity they were not previously aware of.
