About me

I am an integrative psychotherapist with skills in hypnosis and EMDR. My desire is to provide a safe boundaried space in which the client can risk being themselves. Each client is unique and with a spirit of compassionate curiosity they teach me how to be with them on their journey of discovery.

I have been a practicing dentist in the field of oral surgery but for years I have had a keen interest in what motivates a person from surviving to thriving. After many years experience working with phobic and anxious patients I decided to pursue further studies in the field of psychology, counselling and psychotherapy.

My work with a homeless charity and Samaritans have afforded me the privilege of accompanying those struggling with the difficulties of life. These experiences ignited an already enquiring mind and I have furthered my knowledge by doing certificate courses in CBT, EMDR and spiritual direction. I also have a certificate in Hypnosis from the Medical and Dental Hypnosis Society. My great interest is in the work of Jung and the influence of the unconscious both personally and collectively.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
