About me
I have over 25 years of experience working with individuals in-person and online within private practice, NHS services, specialist services such as drug & alcohol, bereavement, kidney dialysis & transplant, and employment assistance programmes.
Over the years, I have worked with individuals to address a wide variety of mental health and life difficulties. This can range from niggling and persistent anxiety, low mood, issues at work, self-doubt, through to attending to long-standing problems, trauma, sense of lost self, and more.
It is important to feel at ease with the therapist you choose to share what are often painful and distressing thoughts and feelings about yourself, your life and dilemmas.
I offer an initial free, no-obligation session to explore whether we are the right match to be able to work collaboratively in identifying options and solutions to meet your needs and find a happier way forward.
Counselling typically focuses on specific, short-term issues, providing immediate support and strategies.
Psychotherapy can support individuals in many ways: exploring things that have happened to us, shaped and influenced us, delving deeper into underlying emotional and behavioural patterns, exploring the root causes of difficulties and this new awareness then provides the opportunity to make informed choices that are right for you.
We will work for a mutually agreed length of time, whether that be a short or long term basis.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
