About me

Welcome to my counselling profile

Is life at this time is difficult for you, or you simply want something in life to change or to be different

You may need some help to work this through with someone completely separate from your everyday life. How do you imagine it would be for you to have someone really listen and not judge you?

I am a quaified counsellor and clinical supervisor with many years experience as an NHS professional and in private practice.

I don’t offer solutions and rarely offer advice or information. I do provide a safe accepting space for exploring your life and the issues that concern you, trusting in your ability to seek your own solutions and choices in life.

I’ll do my best to understand what it is like for you indoor world and will often tell you what I am sensing or feeling about your world in the hope it helps you make sense. I will never fully get what it is like to be you, only you can do that, although sometimes I will get very near to understanding and accepting who and how you are.

My guess is that many people visiting these pages, considering whether to contact me as a therapist, may feel like they have little choice, in their life at this time. Perhaps a very simple definition of counselling is the "exposure and exploration of choice". I have a real faith in your ability to move forward in life as you choose it.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
