About me

Counselling could be the support you want at the moment to improve some of the problems you are experiencing. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or confused about your health, parenthood, work, a bereavement or other life experiences or relationships.

Depression, feeling sad or social anxiety might be holding you back to experience feelings of joy and contentment. I have limited availability at the moment and we can arrange to have a relaxed, complimentary 20 minute phone meeting to talk about your situation.

I am a Mid Sussex and Hove based Integrative counsellor and work from comfortable, welcoming rooms. I am, furthermore, qualified and experienced to meet you online and by phone so I can offer Face to Face, zoom or phone counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

Prior to becoming a qualified counsellor I worked in corporate environments specialising in sales and process solutions. I then chose to be a stay at home mother. My previous careers, together with my counselling training and other life experiences informs my open minded approach. Life can be very hard and relationships with ourselves and the people around us are very important and can be stressful and unsettling.

Having supported a wide rage of clients with different needs, I believe that every person is unique. This motivated me to become an Integrative Counsellor instead of choosing one single counselling approach which enables me to draw on a wide range of therapeutic tools to accommodate your specific needs and preferences.

I am a registered member with the BACP which means my diploma is certified and I adhere to a sound Ethical Professional Standard. Find more information about this here: https://www.bacp.co.uk/events-and-resources/ethics-and-standards/

We can discuss our chosen approach during a free assessment.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.
