About me

I have run a private psychotherapy practice since 1994 in Slough and Bristol, and also have considerable experience of working in Primary Care, having worked in GP surgeries since 1994. I am a Designated Member of the Counsellors' Collective South West LLP.

Psychotherapy is usually conducted under an open-ended contract, but short-term work is also possible. Using psychotherapy, you can explore all kinds of life issues in a safe and confidential space. In our initial meeting we can establish the basis of our work together. Sessions are normally arranged on a weekly basis, but other arrangements can be negotiated.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling (BCPC) from 1989, qualifying with the Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy in 1997. As well as a private psychotherapy practice, I also have considerable experience of counselling in Primary Care, having worked in GP surgeries since 1994.

Since September 2012 I have been working part-time in the East Berkshire IAPT Talking Therapies service under the Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.

I am a licenced Counselling for Depression (CfD) and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) practitioner.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
