I work with you and will support you through and beyond your time of need. Take the next step and get in touch and book a free initial consultation.
Through personal experience, I understand how difficult it can be to find the right kind of help and support. I am here to support you with finding a solution to your distress. My aim is to provide the opportunity to explore the difficulties in your life to better enable you to move forward, encourage you to make changes, reduce confusion and deal with difficult emotions.
I am an Integrative, relational counsellor/psychotherapist drawing from a number of approaches to best suit my clients' needs. I specialise in trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder including work with HM Armed Forces, Blue Light and Emergency Services personnel and their families. I have experience in a number of working environments including a family support centre where my focus was on victims of domestic violence, domestic abuse, rape, anxiety, depression, self-worth and other complex issues.
I have a lifetime of lived experience including 9 years of service in the HM Armed Forces. I am also an amputee following illness and understand working in high risk environments and the effects of trauma first hand.
Training, qualifications & experience
My qualifications include;
- Post Graduate Diploma (L7) Counselling and Psychotherapy (Integrative Studies)
- BA Hons in Counselling and Psychology in Community Settings
Further education includes personal Continuing Professional Development courses as well as my delivery of PTSD and Suicide Awareness courses.
I have many years of experience working in a variety of settings from A family support centre to private practice with referrals from many agencies and organisations.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
