Mark Roper BA (Hons) MBACP NCS (Accred)
Hello and welcome,
I am a counsellor, positioned very close to my home on the edge of Norwich. My training allows me to help my clients with a variety of problems, including anxiety, depression, bereavement and many more.
Sometimes it is difficult to discuss personal issues in relationships, I consider myself an understanding person and as part of my personal training, have experienced this process myself.
Person centred counselling, which I practice, can help you to gain greater self -understanding and personal development. I offer you a confidential, caring and safe space, which will allow you to heal in your own time. As a result of this is a very natural form of therapy, I have witnessed great positive changes in clients.
As an individual and in my training I do not judge and I understand that we are all different and unique. It is very important to form a trusting bond between myself and my client, so as to allow the maximum benefit and healing.
I will take a caring interest in whatever you bring to the sessions and will provide you with support, which may be short or longer term, depending on your personal requirements.
In our first session:
We can explore the reasons behind your coming to counselling. This I feel is very important as it is the first important step to creating a trusting bond between us and the first opportunity to talk of your experiences and feelings. After the first counselling session, you can decide if you wish to continue with further sessions and these will be based on your personal needs. These sessions can be looked at at regular intervals, in a way for you to gain the maximum support and progress.
If you feel you would like to book an initial session, please feel free to contact me on: 073847 45067, if for any reason I am not able to answer the phone, I will return your call as soon as I can. Also please feel able to text me at the above number.
Training, qualifications & experience
Before becoming a counsellor, I volunteered at a counselling Centre for a year and was so enthusiastic about doing this, and at the end of my volunteering, I decided to seek training myself and went on to pass a degree as a counsellor a few years later
As part of my personal commitment to training, I practice and can teach mindfulness meditation, which I have done for many years and have a certificate in. Also, I am seeking accreditation as a life coach and I am a member of the BACP, the main organisation for regulating counselling and psychotherapy, as well as being an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
