Mark Howe Prac Dip,CP,Dip Psychology, MBACP
Hello....thank you for looking at my profile.
I have been through a counselling process myself and understand how difficult it can be to admit that you may need therapy.
I understand the avalanche of different emotions and contradictory mood swings we can experience. We tend to suppress our feelings in time of difficulty in the hope things will get better. The reality, however is that the situation may become worse. The very fact that you are reading this profile demonstrates that you, or someone close to you may benefit from change and a different direction in life. I can provide the opportunity to help you re-assess your life.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment in which you will be listened to and heard.
My aim is to provide:
- The time and space to explore any issues
- To work with you in providing an understanding of the issue
- To work with you in identifying a strategy to resolve or manage the issue
My approach is referred to as Integrative Counselling. This means I do not solely rely on one counselling approach. I combine and integrate a number of different approaches best suited to the client's presenting issues. If you decide you want to work with me you choose the level we work at, frequency and duration.
I offer face to face counselling, telephone or online therapy sessions including Skype. If you are interested in online counselling please visit the Online Counselling page on my website. Online counselling is conducted via e-mail or Skype.
For individuals thinking about face to face therapy, I suggest a 40 minute initial consultation. This provides an opportunity for us to meet. A brief overview of the issues can be discussed, I explain how therapy works and what it may offer. I'm happy to answer any questions. At the end of the consultation you decide whether they want to work with me, or alternatively give the matter more thought. There is no obligation and no pressure
I offer therapy for children, adolescents, adults, couple counselling and family groups. Home visits can be arranged in specific circumstances. Evening and Saturday morning appointments are available

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
