Mark Burke. PgDip CBT, Cert CBT, Dip MH Nursing.
I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 20 years experience of providing professional and confidential support for people with a wide variety of emotional problems.
I offer specific, evidence based treatments for numerous anxiety and depressive disorders including:
Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Obsessional Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Living with these type of problems can make it even harder to cope with normal life events such as work stress, relationship issues and bereavement so CBT can often help with these too.
Short 30 minute initial assessments are available, without charge, to anybody referring themselves for therapy.
Treatment is usually brief and following the assessment I will be able to indicate roughly how many sessions will be needed.
My therapy suite is modern, comfortable and private and is situated in Piccadilly House, a beautiful Grade II listed building right in the heart of Manchester city centre. There is a staffed reception and waiting area with tea and coffee available. I also offer sessions via Skype if this is more convenient.
Coming to see a therapist can be a difficult first step in getting help. Most people find it useful to have a chat over the phone before deciding to book a therapy session. This is free and there’s no obligation. It’s a good chance for you to ask questions and sometimes I can give advice about the other treatment options available.
I personally handle all enquiries myself, so you can be assured that no one else has access to any of your information when you get in touch.
As well as working in my own practice I continue to work in the NHS as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist in an IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Medicine) service. These services are widely acknowledged as world leaders in providing evidence-based psychological treatments for people with anxiety and depression.
