I am an experienced therapist who works with both individuals and couples in Barnet, North London and online.
I have extensive experience working with people in emotional distress, and have supported clients with a wide range of issues including abuse and neglect, anxiety, bereavement, and depression. I also work with individuals seeking to develop their identity, confidence, assertiveness and self-esteem.
I specialise in relationship issues and am experienced in supporting individuals who are struggling with intimacy and relating, as well as couples who are having difficulties with communication, who are in conflict, or who wish to establish a greater physical or emotional connection, or who would like to deepen their commitment. I am trained and experienced in working with psychosexual issues where I use an integrative approach. I respect diversity in sexuality as well as in all other areas of my clinical practice.
I am BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) accredited and I am a member of BPS (British Psychological Society). I also have a qualification in online therapy.
I have also undertaken specific supervision training and offer clinical supervision to both trainees and qualified practitioners. I am able to offer some reduced cost spaces.
Training, qualifications & experience
Certificate in Online Counselling
Diploma in Supervision
Advanced Diploma in Couples Therapy,
London Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy,
Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling,
BsC(Hons) in Psychology
Since 2009 I have been running a successful private practice working with many cultures and nationalities and a variety of issues ranging from identity to communication issues to sexuality and relationship issues. I am also qualified for online therapy.
For 7 years, in addition to my main private practice, I provided short term (6-8 sessions) solution focused counselling for clients referred by GPs for anxiety, relationship issues, depression, etc. in Stevenage and North Herts Counselling Centre, North Hertfordshire.
I worked as an honorary couples/psychosexual counsellor in Ealing Abbey Counselling Service helping couples who were in conflict or were struggling to communicate. I also worked with sexual dysfunctions and issues of jealousy and possessiveness.
I was a voluntary counsellor for 3+ year in Camden, City, Islington and Westminster Bereavement Service. Whilst the main issue bringing clients to this service is bereavement, often there are underlying issues, which are complicating the grief such as depression, low self-esteem, abuse, lack of identity etc.
I also worked as a Voluntary Counsellor for 3+ years in Enfield Women's Centre, where the issues I worked with included sexual abuse, self-esteem issues, depression, Bipolar disorder, anxiety, assertiveness, domestic violence, inertia, changing life situations and relationships.
I undertook Diploma in supervision in 2015 and supervise therapists for individuals, couples and for psychosexual issues. I believe supervision just as much as therapy requires a safe space to achieve the best result for everyone. While it is always relational, sometimes it needs to be supportive and educational, while at other times it needs to be challenging too.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists
COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
