Does it feel like past or current issues have begun to negatively impact on your emotions, daily life or relationships?
I work with individual and couples, offering compassionate and effective support towards making positive changes.
I care deeply about relationships and the impact they have on our connection to ourselves and the significant people in our lives. I can support those dealing with dysfunctional or difficult relationships in their lives, including separation and divorce.
My professional training and personal experience combine to give you non-judgemental and supportive counselling. The emphasis is on helping you to identify and work through the causes of difficult issues, while supporting you emotionally to move forward.
I work from peaceful practice rooms in Kingsbridge or Totnes. My style of counselling draws upon a variety of theoretical approaches, depending on your needs and particular issues.
One-to-one counselling: A safe and non-judgmental space to talk about any difficult circumstances affecting you. This may include exploration of how these issues have impacted on current or previous close relationships, or the ability to form new relationships.
Couples Counselling: Working together with both partners to look at the causes of any problems in your relationship along with support for moving through them. A safe and neutral space to talk about your needs and expectations, and help with looking openly at your relationship and its future.
Break-Up Counselling: Support for individuals going through the grieving process at the end of a relationship; exploring and working through any unresolved issues which leave you feeling stuck and unable to move forward. Support in identifying your needs and goals for the next steps of your life.
"Marissa was empathic and perceptive. The way in which she reflected back to me and also contributed her own insights and perception was very helpful. Her counselling was very effective and helped me through a very difficult period." "S" client
