About me

Hi, I'm Marilyn, I am a Human Givens therapist offering practical help with mental and emotional distress in the here and now. I work with individuals (adults and young adults) offering short, medium, and long term counselling and life coaching.

I can help with depression and anxiety, panic attacks and phobias, post traumatic stress as well as resolve trauma, and offer support for domestic abuse. I can also help to manage anger and stop addictive behaviour.

You are welcome to contact me either by phone or email, or pop your phone number in the email and I will call you. Any information you provide is emailed directly to me and is completely confidential.

I live in the beautiful village of Westleton near the Suffolk coast. Typically, I am willing to travel distances of up to approximately 25 miles - please get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

My background as a Nurse Midwife and Health visitor for 25 years, has led to a Diploma in Human Givens Therapy which I have practised for 12 years now.

Human Givens is accredited with the Professional Standards Authority and Human Givens Institute. The main focus of Human Givens therapy is recognising that every person has a defined set of needs and helping people get these needs met.

Every person has an innate set of resources and we help clients make full and effective use of these resources to improve their emotional well being. Using a solution focused approach and by setting small achievable goals, it is possible to make changes in their lives and for them to feel better in a short period of time.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
