About me

Hello, I'm Marie from Lighthouse Counselling,

I am here to support you on your journey towards inner peace and personal growth. As someone who works with young adults and individuals up to 60 years old, I understand the challenges you may be facing. Whether it's stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, or navigating the aftermath of separation or loss, I dedicatedly provide guidance and support.

My approach is rooted in the belief that true healing and growth come from within. I am committed to helping you reflect on your core beliefs, gain self-awareness, and discover who you truly are as a person. Together, we will explore how you can continue to grow even in difficult situations. Sometimes, what is happening in the present is a result of what occurred in your past and I will help gently guide you If you need to revisit that place emotionally.

I pride myself on offering an in-depth and reflective experience tailored to your specific needs. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can delve deep into your emotions, process your thoughts, and gain clarity on your goals.

Empathy is at the forefront of my practice and I will use it with many other approaches as per your need. I understand the challenges you face, and I am here to offer understanding, validation, and support throughout our time together. In our sessions, you can feel assured that your experiences will be heard and respected.

Life can present unexpected obstacles, and it is during these challenging moments that our resilience is tested. I am here to empower you to navigate these challenges and discover your growth potential. Together, we will explore strategies that are unique to your journey and help you build a solid foundation for a meaningful and fulfilling life.

If you are ready to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, reflection, and growth, I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Together, we will unlock your inner strength and create a brighter future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
