Sometimes it is difficult to work out how to cope with situations, or make sense of aspects of ourselves which challenge us and leave us feeling conflicted, anxious or unhappy. There are many reasons you might be looking for a counsellor and taking the first step can sometimes feel scary or overwhelming.
I am a professional qualified and registered counsellor based in Bridport, and will provide you with the time in a safe, confidential and supportive space to talk about and explore the issues that are troubling you. During sessions you will be free to explore your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental environment, and I am to committed to helping you move beyond any limitations, and create positive and lasting change in your life. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of theoretical models to find the most helpful way of exploring the issues you bring to therapy.
I have over 10 years experience working with people to make the changes that are important to them in their lives. I have worked in both mental and physical health care roles using talking therapies and activities to support people to make sense of their difficulties, and grow and develop in their own way. This has included working in voluntary and paid roles in the fields of mental health, neurological rehabilitation, addictions, learning disability and with children and young people. With a background in the creative arts, I am open to exploring concerns and issues in a variety of ways that may suit you, including the use of arts, music and movement.
I specialise working with issues relating to pregnancy, fertility, and perinatal mental health. Please see my website www.HypnobirthingAndBeyond.com for details, or contact me by phone or email to discuss your needs.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

Areas of counselling I deal with
My fee for regular 1 hour sessions for an individual is £40. However, reduced cost places are available for students, retired or low income clients, please contact me to discuss affordability.
Traditionally counsellors see clients once a week, however, longer or shorter sessions can be negotiated. You may prefer seeing your counsellor at a set time and day each week, but I am happy to be flexible and make arrangements that are mutually convenient.
I also offer both telephone and video call counselling.
Sessions are normally held at my practice, however if you would prefer an alternative location, get in touch and we can talk about other options.
