About us


20 years of experience of working with children, young people and adults with a well-known Safeguarding/Therapeutic Children’s Charity, Volunteered at MIND Halton Jigsaw Counselling Service, Co-ran Eating Disorders group.

Trained Local Authority /children’s Centre’s Domestic Abuse Program and support Post Training.
Worked with Sexual Abuse, Physical Abuse, Neglect, Emotional Abuse. Issues such as Bereavement, Loss & Anxiety, Domestic Abuse, Attachment, Parenting, Anger Management, Life Story type work, Self-esteem and Confidence, Bullying, Relationships. Anxiety, Stress, Identity, Self-Harm. Group work for Domestic Abuse, Parenting, Listening Skills & Children’s Mental Health groups.

Our company name is called Treasure Chest Counselling, have over 20 years of experience of working with children, young people and adults.


Diploma in Nursery Nurse, HND Early Childhood Studies, BTEC Clerical, Advanced Diploma in Person Centred Counselling, Certificate in Bereavement Counselling.

Personal Development Training

Play Therapy, CBT, Solution focus, Child Protection, Neglect, working with children and learning disabilities, Eating Disorders, Connect 5, Narrative Story Training, Parenting Group Training, Safeguarding, Sexual Abuse working with children, PTSD, Winston Wish training, Data Protection also starting Counselling Supervision Course in April 2020.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

“Your Journey starts with a single step” it can be really hard to take the first step to accessing support. If you feel like you’re ready to arrange an appointment this can be done by either: telephone, Text, email or contact us on our Facebook page (Treasure Chest Counselling); and we can set up an initial session. During your initial session we will talk about what you want to get out of counselling; if your happy to continue we will set up a second session, and will arrange to see you weekly/fortnightly. We can meet at our office in Ashton In Makerfield, Wigan or we can agree to meet in a venue near you.

There is free off-road parking near our office and also free parking over the road. Our office is also near a train station and is accessible by public transport. easily accessible using public transport. Due to Corona Virus I am currently offering either online counselling through Zoom or telephone counselling. If your struggling with anxiety we can do a stress buster plan.
