Maria Michalakopoulou - MBACP Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Hello and welcome... my name is Maria and I am a counsellor based in Cornwall.
With warmth, empathy & compassion, I aim to offer you a safe, non-judgmental space to be heard, understood and explore your feelings, thoughts and experiences. My aim is also to create a trusting therapeutic relationship to further facilitate this.
I am also able to offer you phone and online counselling, meaning I would be able to work with you pretty much anywhere in the world you may find yourself whether you are looking for support with something you are struggling, examining unhelpful patterns or self-exploration.
As a person-centred therapist, I do believe that each unique individual has the ability to navigate through difficult situations and towards a state of being that feels closer to their true self. I believe we all have the ability to grow and to learn to love & accept ourselves, no matter how impossible that may feel at times.
My role isn't to assume what you may or may not need, nor to advise what is good for you. We are all unique individuals, shaped by different experiences. What is best for me would not necessarily be best for you but, I believe that with my genuine interest in understanding "where you come from" and by working together, we can help you find what is best for you if that is what you are looking for.
Let's travel there together ...
I know it can be hard to accept we need help sometimes, let alone seek it. But, if you do feel I may be the right counsellor for you, please, do not hesitate to contact me.
My professional experience supports clients to gain a deeper awareness and understanding of their identity, who they are, what they need and how they want to be. If, in the meantime, you wish to know a bit more about me and my work, please visit my website.
